Carano Did it Her Way

“When I first came into this sport, I was looking around for somebody that went before me and paved the way,” Carano said. “I just didn’t see it at the time. So I figured, OK, I’m going to do this how I would do it.”

The Las Vegas Sun has a great article up about Gina Carano and her path as a trail blazer in womens MMA. It is no secret that she has evolved greatly over time and becomea very good fighter and in the mean time shown everyone that she is not just a pretty face.

In the US she is the leader in legitimizing MMA for women but she faces her biggest challenge in August when she faces Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos in a fight for Strikeforce MMA. It has been an interesting trip for her as she paves the way.
