Less than 24 hours removed from Thiago Alves accepting the challenge by Mike Pierce to fight, things appear to have changed. Pierce had called out Alves on MMAJunkie radio when discussing Alves performance at UFC 117 against Jon Fitch. When word got back to Alves he stated he’d take that fight and would ask Dana White for it to happen at UFC 123.

September 11th, 2010, “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jadine (15-8) will look to open up new opportunities for his future in MMA. Jardine is looking to start over and prove he is still a top contender in the rising sport. He gets his first shot at a fresh start in less than two weeks against veteran Trevor Prangley (22-6) in the main event of Shark Fights 13.

I’m sure you’ve all heard the rumors about UFC 123 coming to Detroit. I know we have. The only reason we haven’t been shouting it from the rooftops is that nothing seems to be set in stone yet.

We had the pleasure of attending Ultimate Combat Fighting‘s “Nuclear Blast” event this past Saturday. The event could have been called “Fun in the Sun”, because it was just that. I (T.J.) was a referee for this wonderful event alongside Mr. Keith Dozeman (AKA Keith Creme). The lovely and oh-so-talented Shannon Hale was on timekeeper patrol. The event was outdoors and the day was as nice as you could ask for. The show started at 2:00pm, which was a nice change because there was still time to enjoy a bit of daylight after a great day of battles. Here are your results…

Following Saturdays MMA versus boxing freak show between Randy Couture and James Toney, Couture was asked what was next for him. Coming off his quick submission victory over Toney, Couture responded by pointing to Dana Whiter and saying “it’s up to him”.
